Free Workplace Safety Seminar in Bismarck and Fargo-Moorhead! 

August 1, 2014 – According to a National Safety Council survey, two out of five companies do not understand the basic OSHA requirements for first aid and CPR. To help answer some of the most frequently asked questions about OSHA standards, the NDSC is hosting free First Aid Fast Facts Seminars in Bismarck and Moorhead on Thursday, August 14. The 1.5-hour sessions are sponsored by Philips and will cover the First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens OSHA standards, best practices to improve response times and the importance of AEDs in the workplace.

The Bismarck event will take place at the NDSC’s office at 1640 Burnt Boat Drive from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and the Moorhead event will be held at the Hjemkomst Center located at 202 1st Ave. N. from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

CPR/AED/First Aid 
ND Professional Builder - 5 credits                                                      

This course teaches students to take action in a medical 
emergency and prepares them to respond to choking, 
breathing and cardiac emergencies. Participants will learn 
how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)               
in conjunction with CPR. First Aid is taught using a 
combination of instructor-led lecture, “watch-then-practice” 
videos, and hands-on training. Topics such as bleeding, 
burns, poisoning and sudden illness are covered.
Upon completion, receive an Adult 2-year CPR/AED 
certificate and a 3-year First Aid certificate

Forklift Operator Training
ND Professional Builder - 4 credits 

This course is designed to meet OSHA formal instruction 
trainign requirements for operators of powered industrial 
trucks. Course includes safe operation, maintenance, 
protection of persennel, load center, unloading and loading 
of trucks, intersections and more. Not a NDSC certification course.
Bismarck, NDSC - 8am - 12pm - May 29

OSHA 10-Hour Construction
ND Professional Builder - 10 credits 

Receive instruction on construction industry safety and 
health topics and OSHA standards for both employee and 
entry level supervisors. Using OSHA standards as a guide, 
special emphasis is placed upon the most hazardous areas 
of a jobsite, including fall protection, electrical and more. 
Minot, Grand International - April 16-17 
Day 1: 8am - 5:30pm Day 2: 7:30am - 11am
