North Dakota Association of Builders Announce National Defender of Housing Awards
Bismarck, N.D. – The North Dakota Association of Builders is excited to announce the inaugural recipients of the National Association of Home Builders Defender of Housing Awards. Senator Heidi Heitkamp, Senator John Hoeven, and Congressman Kevin Cramer all have been chosen to receive this honor in thanks for their support of the housing industry during the 114th Congress. Only 130 of the 535 United States legislators will receive this award for 2016.
The goal of the award is to recognize members of Congress who go above and beyond for the housing industry and to thank our lawmakers for the level of attention paid to home building issues and to our overall industry. Congressional members are nominated for the award by our state and local associations based on a variety of important criteria, including support and leadership on housing issues, as well as accessibility to the NAHB membership.
“It is a testament to the quality of our congressional delegates representing North Dakota, and NDAB is grateful for the opportunity to speak regularly with Senator Heidi Heitkamp, Senator John Hoeven, and Congressman Kevin Cramer,” says NDAB President, Arnold Karsky of Dickinson. “And the time they consistently give us to educate them on policy and issues that will most help homebuilders in their home state and nationally, make them true champions for housing,” NDAB Executive Officer, Kim Schneider says.
The North Dakota Association of Builders is the state trade association for six local builders associations and nearly 2,000 builders and associate members in North Dakota who employ more than 46,000 North Dakotans. Its mission is to represent the professional building industry through legislation, information, and education.
