The NDAB recognizes the direct relationship between the home building industry and the government process. There is a wide range of legislation, regulations and judicial decisions that affect the home building industry, and NDAB is there to represent your interests. When issues important to the building industry are considered by the North Dakota Legislative Assembly, the NDAB is watching out for your business.

There are hundreds of bills introduced during each Legislative Session that could make a drastic difference in your ability to operate in the home building industry. NDAB is there to help keep legislators informed on the home building industry and its issues, and also to provide members with updates on legislative activity.

Legislative Assembly

The ND Legislature is made up of two chambers. Two representatives and one senator are elected from each district. The House of Representatives has 94 members and the Senate has a total of 47.  North Dakota is unique in that the legislature meets bi-annually in odd numbered years and are restricted to being able to meet a total of 80 days once gaveled in which means this session will end by April 26, 2019.  Please be watching your emails for Call to Action requests where you will be asked to reach out to your local representatives and senators regarding bills that impact our industry.
