Various NDAB members and association staff recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Home Builders annual Spring Leadership Meetings and Legislative Conference. We had a productive week of meetings which included the Leadership Council meeting where our state’s National Delegates vote and act as the voice of the home building industry.
NAHB’s Legislative Conference took place on June 10 where over 1,100 NAHB members gathered on Capitol Hill to discuss landmark housing legislation, workforce development, permit reform, and energy choice. Our group met with our North Dakota delegation which included Senator Hoeven, Congresswoman Fedorchak and Senator Cramer’s staff. Continuing conversations with members of Congress is vital to our organization and the home-building industry. Thank you to those who took the time to come to Washington, D.C. to be the voices of NDAB on behalf of our members!
Don Dabbert with Dabbert Custom Homes and a member of the Building Industry Association of the Red River Valley will be running for the National Association of Home Builders Third Vice Chairman in 2027! He is the first from our state to run for this prestigious position. While we were in DC, Don addressed the NAHB Leadership Council, campaigned during the area caucuses and committee meetings, and met with others from across the nation regarding his campaign. We wish him the best of luck during this next big step in his leadership journey!

Don’t forget to register for our Summer Social in Medora! National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Chairman of the Board Bill Owens will be our special guest. Meetings and the Social will take place on Tuesday, August 4 at the Rough Riders Hotel with a golf event on Wednesday, August 5 at the Bully Pulpit Golf Course.
