The North Dakota Association of Builders would like to celebrate and recognize our invaluable Associate Members! In 1981 the National Association of Home Builders designated September as Associate Member Appreciation Month and since then September has become our time to celebrate the contributions our Associate members make to our industry every day. These members constitute approximately two-thirds of NAHB’s membership. Associates provide the support, trade skills and materials that every housing professional needs to do business every day. Thank you, Associates!
On August 10th, NDAB Senior Officer and Bismarck-Mandan Home Builders Association Past President Joe Hillerson was part of a housing roundtable hosted by Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak. Other roundtable participants included federal, state and local housing leaders, developers and community bankers. The new 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act was discussed with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Region VIII Regional Administrator Tim Geitner as part of the panel to talk about how HUD can work with North Dakota communities to implement these reforms. The roundtable took place in a newly built home by Boulder Homes in the Silver Ranch Subdivision in Bismarck.
Various Executive Officers and staff across the state attended NAHB’s Association Management Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, August 25-27. So much was learned from our peers from across the country and it is always great to connect with one another to gain insight on supporting our membership throughout North Dakota. Registration is live for NAHB’s Fall Leadership Meetings that will take place in Detroit on October 6-8 at the Huntington Place Convention Center.

NDAB will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary during our Annual Banquet & Meeting of the Members on November 3rd in Minot. While in Minot we will also have various committee meetings and our Fall Board Meeting. We look forward to hosting NAHB’s First Vice Chairman Bob Peterson in ND! We encourage all members to make the trip to Minot as we induct our 2027 Board of Directors, 2027 President Jeff Haider, and announce our 2026 award winners!
